Telly boffin Brian Cox left stumped by King’s Road cricket question

Stumped ... Prof Brian Cox

FOUL-MOUTHED telly egghead Professor Brian Cox has finally been stumped – by the King’s Road Cricket and Social Club.

The science boffin was responding to science questions last night at his Uncaged Monkeys show at Hammersmith Apollo.

But, when asked in front of 3,500 people if cricket is the aim of evolution, he said: “I don’t know much about cricket and I’ve not heard of the King’s Road Cricket and Social Club.”

The floppy-haired former pop star went on: “But there is no aim to evolution, it is random.”

Prof Cox was responding to a question on the club’s Twitter account @krcsc by King’s Road all-rounder Leon Watson.

The super-brained science star did however ignore a series of other questions pitched by Leon, including:

* Can things only get better?

* When will the eggheads invent a light sabre?

And,

* So what’s an elf?
