Sixy time! Jezza the Kiwi proves fruitful yielding 6 for 5 against London Ities

Jeremy and Sham ... in the wickets

KING’S Road Kiwi Jeremy Smith destroyed the London Itinerants today in an incredible six wicket burst.

The newboy bagged the best bowling figures in the club’s history conceding just five runs to skittle the Ities and condemn them to a crushing 72-run defeat.

Four of the paltry five Jeremy conceded were an edge through the slips from Ities skip Ben Tanner as his side were bowled for out just 46.

In the last Twenty20 match of the season at South Park, The Road, captained by James Couldrey, had cracked 118.

Tom Barnes was again the backbone scoring 48, Shailesh Joshi hit 22 and Andy Saker made 19.

Then on-fire Jezza set about the task with 3.4 deadly overs which put him on two hat-trick balls. He was supported by Shailesh who bagged a brace as the Ities were bowled out in just 13.4 overs.

Tanner’s London Premier League team battered The Road in both this season’s matches between the clubs.

After tonight’s match the skip tweeted: “Well that was comprehensive. Well played boys – see you next season.”
