It’s a tie! Second round needed after captaincy candidates James and Matt play out a draw

Candidates ... Current skip James and former skip Matt

JAMES Couldrey and Matt Cocken drew in this year’s captaincy vote – meaning a second round is needed to decide who leads The Road in 2013.

The King’s Road AGM heard on Saturday that members were split 50/50 in the election to decide who becomes skip between last year’s captain and the club’s captain in 2010.

Following a discussion between members present, it was decided new ballot would be held.

Voting is now open to decide the winner, with polls remaining open until the midnight on March 1 deadline.

Other decisions at the AGM held in The Calf, in Clapham Old Town, include a freeze of club subs at ยฃ30.

Elections were also held for other committee positions with Mark Isham re-elected as chairman, Leon Watson as website editor, Dan Sherman as fixtures secretary until September.

Chris MacNicol will join in with the running of the club as the newly-created membership secretary.

The committee also resolved to make greater attempts to organise this year’s club tour.
