Injured Leon is right under the thumb

KING’S Road have suffered an injury blow after all-rounder Leon Watson was ruled out for the season yesterday.

The club stalwart broke a bone while moonlighting for the Sunday Times Occasionals in Dulwich as his Orange Cap teammates were putting Hawksmoor CC to the sword in Hackney.

Leon, who’s taken 16 wickets this season and averages 25 with the bat, was fielding at long on when the ball struck his right thumb.

Doctors at Lewisham Hospital X-rayed the injury and said he will be out for at least two months.
