KING’S Road rounded up Wandering Herd CC after bowling them out for just 83.

A fine all-round performance from the side, captained for the first time by Dan Sherman, saw the Orange Caps run out decisive winners.

Paceman Jeremy Smith and super spinner Sham De Silva did the damage taking three wickets each.

Kiwi Jeremy continued his hot streak after his incredible six-for against the London Itinerants two weeks ago.

And super spinner Sham De Silva also forced a Herd batsman to retire after hitting his lip with a beamer.

The poor victim was cut so bad he was rushed to hospital and was told he’ll need plastic surgery.

Kevin Pittaway grabbed another scalp to edge him closer to 50 for the club. He’s now just three short of the landmark.

And last season’s top wicket-taker Jamie Keating knocked over the stumps twice in six balls as the Herd collapsed in just 19 overs.

Earlier, The Road had put on 132 for 9 on the soggy pitch on North London’s Hampstead Heath.

Mark Isham hit 23 before being run out backing up after the ball deflected off the bowler onto his stumps.

Matt Cocken hit a handy 12 and Raju Mazumder – returning to the team after a month out – got 9.

Skipper Sherman was the star with the bat, continuing his impressive late season form by stroking his way to finish on 33 not out when the innings closed.

The win was the latest in a series of victories for The Road who’ve managed to turn around last season’s disappointing form.

Next up, The Road take on Bunga Bunga CC on August 20.
