THIS year’s end of season award nominations are out – and voting has begun.
Heading the list is newboy Matt Glover who’s nominated in six categories, including Batsman, Bowler and Player of the Season.
The fiery Northerner is also favourite to win Tantrum of the Year after bagging four out of the five nominations.
Last year’s Player of the Season Tom Barnes is nominated for the top gong again after scoring 444 runs at an average of 75.
Giles Fagan is also up for Player of the Season having scored 433 runs while skippering the side to its best year ever and becoming the first Roader to pass the historic 1,000-run mark.
The other two, along with Glover, competing for the top honour are Sham de Silva for his consistent all-round displays with bat and ball and Jeremy Smith for his devastating late season form with the ball.
The Teasmaker of the Year is the three-horse race with former winner Matt Cocken, Amir Alipour and keen cake-maker Katie Archer looking for votes.
And Dean Aldridge nipped into the nominations on the last day of the season for Champagne Moment after his century in Ferring, with Jeremy Smith for his 6 for and Matt Glover for his hat-trick also among the nominees.
Voting is currently under way with members asked to e-mail club chairman James Couldrey with their votes.
The results will be announced at the club end of season dinner at The Rose in Harwood Terrace, Fulham, on October 15.
Tickets must be bought in advance and are available priced £20 from club treasurer Richard Peralta.
