Gleaming bright orange in the Sri Lanka sun, this is a famous King’s Road shirt flying the flag for England abroad.

The Road’s talent scout Rich Peralta was spotted in the crowd in Galle yesterday as England were bowled out by Sri Lanka.

Bearded Rich is running the rule over overseas players to bolster The Road’s spin options for the new season.

He is said to be particularly impressed with left-arm spinner Rangana Herath but unsure whether he could provide competition for The Road’s other spinner of Sri Lankan origin, Sham de Silva.
